Retail Trainer / Assessor

Babcock is one of the UK’s largest training providers offering government funded Apprenticeships and providing work-based learning in the Retail industry.

We are looking to expand our Work-Based Learning team and are seeking for a suitable candidate who is looking to become a Retail Trainer/Assessor and join our team in Harrogate to cover the North Yorkshire area.

The position is a full-time, permanent role of 35 hours per week. The role is field based and would consist of travelling to various Retail establishments in the North Yorkshire area in order to assess and coach learners through their Retail NVQ/QCF qualifications. You’ll therefore need to live somewhere easily accessible to this region and be prepared to travel within it using your own car.

You will be required to take a caseload of approximately 45 learners where you will have regular meetings to support them through the qualification process. This will involve regular visits to the learners’ place of employment as well as remote support.

For this vacancy we are looking for strong Retail professionals who have a solid experience within the Retail Industry. In order to deliver our Retail Qualifications, you will hold a Level 2 Qualification in Retail or equivalent as well as GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent. Strong experience at supervisory/deputy management or management level is essential for this role. All Retail professionals (with hands on experience) would make ideal candidates, including those that have experience of work based learning.

This exciting position will allow you to draw on your experience of the Retail industry to provide learners in their workplaces with support and training, enabling them to realise their career potential.

Ideal candidate would be someone from the Retail sector with particular emphasis on Business Administration with proven experience.

A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role will be required.

A starting salary of £26,000(rising to £20,910 after probationary period)
