Assessor / Tutor for Warehousing & Retail
Permanent Role

Working across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire
Role can be based from Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham or Leicester
Salary: £26,000per year (Negotiable) + mileage +benefits
OVERVIEW

– Our client is a prestigious Training Provider Organisation working out of numerous centres. They are a quality focused organisation who specialise in the provision of Apprenticeships.
– They currently have a vacancy for a Warehousing & Retail Tutor / Assessor to join their team.
– The role will involve Assessing / Training across the Derbyshire, Leicestershire / Nottinghamshire regions, with mileage paid from your place of work. The role can be based from Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham or Leicester (whichever is closest)
– The successful candidate will be responsible to the Operations Manager, and working closely with the business development team, the Training Advisors and a team of assessors and tutors.
– The purpose of the role is providing quality teaching, assessment, and learning support to all customers on a range of specific disciplines of warehousing and retailing programmes.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessment 90%
– Liaise with company personnel, business development advisors and training advisors to develop a training needs analysis and assessment plan for all individual customers.
– Maintaining all quality systems ensuring current and future standards are implemented immediately.
– Train and induct all customers into the framework, qualification and the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and communicate via this with them regarding feedback during assessment activity.
– Instruct, guide and support mixed ability/age groups/individuals on a one-to-one basis on a roll-on-roll off system.
– Be familiar with content of all courses to facilitate, covering for other members of the team.
– Plan, update and write appropriate course material to meet individual needs, awarding organisations standards meeting Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and quality framework.
– Manage and administer the learning of individuals who attend any off-the-job training.
– Submit accurate and timely information to the Internal Quality Assurer regarding registration, accreditation, progression and certification of individuals to enable formative and summative quality assurance to be planned.
– Consult with the customer and agree a format for assessment of evidence at least on a 4 weekly basis.
-Assist in the development, support, welfare and discipline of individuals.
– Assess and submit assignments ie technical certificates and standalone qualifications.

Teaching 10%
– Where appropriate update and write appropriate courses to meet awarding organisation standards.
– Support customers in a tutor role in the ICT suite and cover teaching sessions for colleagues.
– Manage/organise resources in an open learning environment.
– Invigilate examinations.
– Keep appropriate daily records of attendance, learning objectives and progress.
– Prepare, plan, manage and organise all resources in the learning environment prior to the start and closing of sessions maintaining security.
– Deliver inductions on various programmes

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:
– TAQA or equivalent (A1, D32/33)
– Vocational Teaching qualification minimum level 3
– Key Skills or Functional Skills in maths and English minimum level 2
– Ability to pass a DBS check

Desirable:
– IAG L3 minimum certificate.

EXPERIENCE

Essential:
– Minimum or 2 years working in an assessor role or relevant teaching role with a good understanding of the assessment and internal verification quality process.
– Minimum of 2 years in warehousing and logistics role.
– Good level of communication both verbal and written.
– Good level of understanding of Microsoft packages.

Desirable:
– Experience of teaching maths and English key skills and functional skills to groups of customers.
