Our client is a thriving main contractor based within a short distance of Bury St Edmunds. The company work on new build and refurbishment projects covering the commercial, educational and healthcare sectors. They are actively searching for a quantity surveyor to join their commercial team following a number of major project wins. This is a company that has a successful trading history and an excellent track record of project delivery.
The successful candidate will be degree educated with a steady work history. The company are happy to look at experienced assistant level quantity surveyors looking to take a step up to project level or experienced professionals looking to work for a progressive company that can offer career progression for ambitious candidates.
ROLE:
- Preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget accordingly
- Perform risk, value management and cost control
- Allocate work to subcontractors
- Provide advice on contractual claims
- Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
- Value completed work and arrange payments
CANDIDATE:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor working within main contracting or developing
- Knowledge and skills in cost control of projects in the construction sector working on JCT Contracts and multiple projects
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Steady work history
