Our Client:
• An exciting opportunity to join our client, a leading name in the housing association sector, constructing new builds and leading various regeneration projects
Role Profile:
• This is a full time, permanent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor
• The role will be primarily working from the client’s development site in Aldershot;
o But will be expected to be able to work throughout all of their areas in Hampshire when required
Qualifications:
• Relevant Degree / HNC or equivalent (in Quantity Surveying or construction)
• Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme card to Manager (or equivalent) level
Person Specification:
• Can demonstrate success and experience with a broad range of large housing association projects, preferably with a mix of houses and flats
• Able to travel throughout the company’s area of operation; full current driving licence with access to a vehicle
• Proficient in use of ICT relevant to the role: Email, Word and Excel
• Able to work on site, climb ladders and scaffolding
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and managing the budget of specific projects within the business plan
• Provide construction Contract advice and ensure appropriate contracts in place
• Working with the Project Manager and site management to ensure that;
o The project and any phased handovers are completed within the agreed timetable
• Producing trade package enquiries in accordance with;
o The project programme, employer’s requirements, specifications and drawings
• Preparing budget cost plans for submission to the client
• Negotiating and drafting subcontract package agreements
• Authorising payments for materials
• Producing interim valuations and final accounts for issue to the client
• Ensuring that the costs of the project do not exceed the agreed budget and that the project equals or exceeds the agreed profit margin;
o Maintaining accurate reporting and excellent internal and external communication
• Working with site management for them to ensure compliance with the terms of subcontract agreements
Essential Experience:
• MUST have extensive experience as a contractor’s Quantity Surveyor for large housing association projects, preferably with a mix of houses and flats
