Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £42,000 – £60,000 per year

We have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a leading sub contractor in RC Frame, Groundworks and Infrasturcture projects on new build residential sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing take offs pre-contract for estimating

* Examining tender documentation to ensure that the scope of works and contractual requirements are fully understood

* Attending site to measure works and obtain the necessary information from the site team in order to prepare valuations for interim applications for payment, including variations

* Preparing cost information and prices for contract variations

* Working with the site teams to ensure that appropriate resources are allocated

* Monitoring costs to ensure works are carried out within budget

* Providing clear income forecasts to our management team

* Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final accounts and contra-charges

* Preparing subcontract enquiries and evaluating subcontract tenders

* Ensuring that subcontractors are engaged under appropriate terms and conditions

* Preparing subcontract valuation and payment certificates and negotiating final account agreements

* Identifying and assessing commercial risks when reviewing the terms and conditions of our clients and seeking amendments where necessary

* Producing information for contract claims and having the day to day conduct of such claims

* Adhering to the Company’s commercial systems and procedures and assisting in their development and improvement
