Quantity Surveyor

£66,000 – £78,000+ Package
Our Client, a well-established Main Contractor based in Manchester, are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
Working on a mixture of projects from residential blocks to care home schemes with a value of up to £20m, the Quantity Surveyor will be site based on various sites across the Manchester and Cheshire areas.
The Quantity Surveyor must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in financial and commercial management of projects up to the value of £10m, must have a Bsc in Quantity Surveying, and must show that you have successfully completed at last 2 projects for a main contractor.
Key Deliverables –
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook
- Be able to work to tight deadlines under pressure
- Be able to work within a team environment
- Need to be able to work on their own initiative in accordance with pre-determined guidelines.
- Full clean driving license.
- Be able to prepare and review budgets
- Advise when you are likely to exceed the budget constraints set by the site team. Advising the Contracts Manager if budgets are being exceeded.
- Recommend most competitive subcontractors to Contracts Manager/Site Manager
- Prepare, issues and check subcontract documentation
- Must be able to produce and issues on time monthly applications and ensure that payment is received on time from the employer.
- Deal with all commercial aspects of the contract with the Employer.
- Provide accurate cost/value reports each month including accurate margin forecasts at completion
- Review subcontract applications and make payments in accordance with agreed dates
- Resolve low level disputes with subcontractors and PQS/EA
- Seek advice in respect of any adjudications or legal actions
- Seek advice in relation to the submission of claims from line manager
- Produce detailed measurements of all works
- Agree final accounts with subcontractors and Employer
