The Company

My client is a manufacturer of specialist Electrical products for regulated industries, based near Atherton. Due to an upcoming retirement in the Quality team, they are looking to recruit a Lab Based Quality / Test Technician with a Materials (polymers) Testing background.

Candidates should have previous experience of working with polymer performance testing in a laboratory environment and using DSC / CGA (see below)

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Using DSC and CGA instrumentation and provide accurate analysis (Essential)
• Taking product samples and conducting raw material testing of various polymers
• Managing your workload – working autonomously to manage the departments’ testing requirements.
• Using the following equipment: measuring microscope, skiving machine, tensile elongation machine
• Conducting and reporting on the following tests: Mechanical tests (such as load bearing, resistance to bending), temperature testing, fire testing, UV testing, abrasion testing, electrical testing, etc, etc

The Quality Manager would like to find someone that is able to work accurately, following methods and documenting to an excellent standard whilst also being able to think for yourself, work independently (when required) and problem solve.
