Lab Technician

Our client, based in Pontypridd, is currently recruiting for an experienced Lab Technician.

Purpose of the Role

To provide the Quality Control Department with specialist microbiological or chemical and physical analysis to ensure that the product is produced with all requested analyses and documentation in a timely and safe manner within requested delivery schedules.

Primary Duties:

Responsible for Quality Control microbiological or chemical and physical testing of Intermediate product.Responsible for Quality Control microbiological or chemical and physical testing of Final Gelatin Batches to relevant Customer Specification Responsible for timely testing of intermediate and Final gelatin batches Assist in the preparation of Trial Blends in a timely manner.

Advise Laboratory Manager as and when Quality issues noticed at intermediate testing in a timely fashion.

Assist in Continuous Improvement projects such as 5S, SPIRIT.

Assist in other Laboratory procedures during busy periods

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working in a laboratory environment, preferably within a food / pharmaceutical industry.

· Knowledge of microbiological or chemical and physical testing would be an advantage.

· Good knowledge of ISO quality systems would be useful, with auditing experience a bonus.

· Good Manufacturing Practise experience beneficial.

· Excellent planning, organisational, written and verbal communication skills.

· IT – Good knowledge of MS programs.
