Quality Engineer – Contract

Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

Our client are a large engineering firm who are looking to recruit a quality engineer to cover a contract which is expected to last 6 months but could run on longer

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

• Implementation and Coordination of problem solving teams

• Implementation of Rotork problem solving process – A3, 8D

• Providing support to the assembly process

• Internal reporting of quality performance through tier meeting process – SQDCP

• Support and engagement of improvement events

• Internal quality auditing

Qualifications & Technical knowledge: Essential

• 5 years relevant experience.

• Meticulous and able to work under pressure at a high work rate, without a reduction in attention to detail

• Strong problem solving skills, In depth RCA and quality tools experience i.e. fishbone, 5W2H, 5Whys, Pareto.

• An in depth understanding of the manufacturing process; making finished items for sale from raw materials.

• Ideally a knowledge of metal working practices.

• An understanding of CNC Machining and CMM inspection.

• Must have worked in a prescriptive working environment; Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear, Project, or

Infrastructure.

• Ability to work with all stakeholders at differing levels (including externally facing stakeholders). A team player with good communication skills

• Good understanding of ISO requirements

• Ability to assess and upgrade procedures and systems

• Versatile and a self-starter able to work without supervision

• Strong computer and data collection system literacy, analysis and presentation. Proven presentation skills, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Willing to travel on a regular basis and prepared to spend time away from home (post Covid-19)

Desirable

• Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt

• Experience working within a global multi-cultural organisation
