Quality Engineer

Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

Francesca’s Recruitment are recruiting for an experience, hands on Quality Engineer for a high volume, market leading key working manufacturer in Rotherham. This role will be very much leading projects of improvement and requires someone who has some experience of continuous improvement and an individual who is very much data driven.

Quality Engineer Duties and responsibilities include:

• Minimise the total cost of quality and ensuring 100% compliance to standards
• Golden opportunity for a person to show they can step up to new level, by implanting from scratch the 9001 and 14001
• Set the standards for Quality led operational activities
• Lead Quality activities towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice
• Create/deploy quality training for new and current employees
• Manage NPI & Process Control Management across site, in your areas of responsibility
• Participate & engage in taking CI Projects in our area of responsibility to drive down/improve the costs of key scrap & rework projects
• Support Quality Manager with ISO9001:2015 Management System & continued accreditation. Maintaining the ISO (9001 / 14001 / 13485) standards
• Investigate root causes of customer complaints. Define and implement effective corrective actions to include 8D reporting
• Active involvement in improving existing and creating new Visual Management aids to include reviews of SOP’s
• Activities to include engineering solutions to improve processes in respect of quality and efficiency
• Perform Team based FMEA exercises and manage implementation of countermeasures
• Support in the management of the wider team where necessary

Quality Engineer Skills Required

• • 5 years quality and QMS experience. ISO13485/medical experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Use of Quality Tools & Techniques such as Six Sigma DMAIC, 8D, fishbone
  • Maintaining the ISO (9001 / 14001 / 13485) standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Focussed and able to complete projects within agreed timescales
  • Flexible approach and willing to learn
  • Experience of working with a daily and visual management techniques
  • Experience of problem solving and leading associated activities
  • Demonstrable examples of solving quality, warranty, and customer abnormalities
  • Experience/involvement in New Product Introduction
  • Experience/involvement in Process Change Management
  • Experience ISO9001:2015 & Internal Auditing

Location – Rotherham

Hours – Monday to Friday 8am -5pm

Salary

• £30,000 -£35,000 depending on experience
• 25 days holidays plus 8 stats and if no sickness within a year and further 2 days holiday the following year.
