Technical QA Assistant – High End House Ware Products (Non-Food)

This role requires a bright school leaver with excellent Word / Excel skills and great attention to detail who would like to join this highly succesful, international company as a QA Assistant.

Full training will be provided, but you must want to progress and work hard within this fantastic company that has just won an award from the Financial Times as one of the fastest growing companies in the UK.

You must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.

Roles & Responsibilities:

– Review Quality Inspection Reports for all shipments
– Record all results in the Quality Inspection Tracker
– Issue Quality approval for conforming inspections, and escalate Non-conforming Inspections to the Quality Manager
– Perform Quality spot checks at the UK Warehouse
– Submit Plastic Import declarations to customs
– Issue Food Contact Declarations (DOCs)
– Gather information for, and maintain product & packaging specifications, bill of materials, product testing database etc.
– Gather and submit data for regulatory compliance schemes
– Arrange test samples and applications for product laboratory testing and audits
– Maintain Sealed Sample Library (For Silver & Gold Seal Products), including sending samples to factories
– Create new processes to ensure efficient working between the Quality, NPD and Purchasing Departments
– Assist in User Trials of New Products
– Assist the Quality Manager in other duties where necessary

Requirements:
Previous Technical experience desirable but not essential. The role is mainly admin based; therefore some administration or office experience is essential. Role would be suited to anyone interested in starting a career in Quality Assurance, with a particular interest in home ware products.

Desirable Qualities:
– High attention to detail – Must be able to spot issues within the Inspection reports & escalate issues when non-conformities are found
– Well organised – to ensure data is recorded accurately
– Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks
– Excellent Communication – Work closely with far-eastern factories and Purchasing departments to ensure quality approvals are provided in a timely manner.
– Good Understanding of MS Office, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
– Motivated to drive forward product quality
