They are currently looking to fill a project manager position based in Yeovil due to their continued growth. This is an ideal position for a rising project manager. Candidates for this position must have a demonstrable experience in managing software projects and be degree educated, preferably in a numerical discipline such as computer science, mathematics or computer engineering. However, candidates from other disciplines will also be considered.
An excellent remuneration package of up to £54,000 is offered, which will be flexibly negotiated depending on skills and experience. Main Duties:
Their projects require highly motivated individuals with experience in managing software projects. Experience in the aviation, energy, space and/or defence sectors is a distinct advantage.
Day to day activities include:
– Project management of a portfolio of projects, from small (single engineer) to large (10 engineers)
– Ensuring work is performed on-time, to budget and to an exceptional level of quality
– Customer liaison and supporting business development and sales activities
– Communication with all levels of staff – from board level to junior developer.
– Producing accurate project documents to a high quality, including project management plans, risk registers, progress reports and schedules.
– Communicating results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
– You will need to be very client focussed and feel comfortable in understanding and acting on customer needs. You will also be expected to contribute to tendering work.
Skills and Experience:
– Educated to degree level in a numerical disciplines (e.g. engineering or sciences degree)
– Qualified in project management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, APM)
– Previous experience as a systems or software engineer
– Highly process driven but lean
– Risk and budget management
– Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. MS Project)
– A background in software and systems engineering
– Experience in the aviation, energy, space and/or defence sectors
– Experience in line management duties
