Project Manager

Salary: £66,000 – £78,000 per year

Our client is seeking to employ an experienced Project Manager for their business based in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will have a background in the ground works and civil engineering sector working alongside and supporting blue chip main contractors.

Job Role

• Maintaining effective and long term relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors
• Implementing and maintaining Interserve Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the client’s culture and values
• Ensuring the project team comply with the Companies Business management System
• Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems
• Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability
• Managing, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project team in their personal development
• Undertaking annual assessments for staff directly reporting to the role
• Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement
• Providing aftercare services to the customer
• support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same
• Any other duties relevant to the role.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
• Proven experience in all aspects of commercial groundworks working on project values up to £10m Experience producing and managing programmes
• Proven track record of delivering projects to a tight programme
• Appropriate qualifications/cards (e.g. SMSTS / CSCS)
• Up to date knowledge of compliance and industry requirements (e.g. health & safety)
• Full driving licence
• IT skills (e.g. word, excel) specialist software (e.g. project management, field view)
