Salary: £72,000 – £84,000 per year

nmcn work in partnership and collaboration with our customers, to deliver all manner of projects in infrastructure, non-infrastructure and industrial projects across the UK & Channel Islands. Our specialist engineering and construction teams bring multi-sector innovation and technical skill through design to construction for large-scale water and waste water plants as well as projects in the industrial sector.
Through our unique offering, providing services from feasibility and design, to construction and handover, our Water and Waste Water business provides ‘Full Asset Lifecycle Thinking’ across our projects. We ensure we are fully collaborative & supportive to our customers with innovative outcome-based solutions and an exceptional experience. We currently deliver infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for 10 of the largest national water sector companies.
An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes predominately to the Water Industry focused on clean water for our Major Projects Business Unit.

What you’ll be doing day to day

Leading the successful delivery of a multimillion-pound value Design and Build contract to upgrade a strategic water treatment plant
Leading an integrated delivery team comprising of designers, project delivery staff, directly employed operatives and subcontractors
Accountable for the successful outcome of financial and programme outputs reporting any issues or risks to the Project Director or Commercial Manager
Responsible for contributing to the delivery of the business unit financial targets, agreed with the Major Projects Managing Director
Communicating, implementing and delivering the operational plan and commercial targets
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, to timescale, budget and with the quality required for successful completion
Adhering to and promoting safe working and QESH standards at all times
Leading the compliance and risk management controls to ensure positive interventions are achieved
Minimising waste and operational expenditure wherever required
Developing and managing customer/stakeholder relationships for repeat business opportunities/tenders
Maintaining a positive working relationship with the senior leadership team, peers and teams to debate, develop and implement initiatives and change management protocols
Leading and empowering teams, at varying levels, including any development and retention challenges
Helping to drive engagement and a positive working environment across the business unit
Interpreting core policies and ensuring procedures are adhered to for current legislation, legal and contractual requirements
Fostering positive working relationships to achieve consistent and common processes across the company
Regularly reviewing project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve performance
Coordinating with the Project Team to ensure that the design activities are visible and that all operations are aligned to support the programme
Ensuring all project KPI`s and KPM`s are achieved What we’re looking for in a candidate

An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent
Proven track record of successfully delivering multi million-pound value Design and Build schemes in the water industry
Computer literate
Familiarity with NEC forms of contracts is preferable
Good written and oral communication with Client, Colleagues and Supply Chain (Building relationships)
Trustworthy and ethical approach, exercising discretion where required
Organised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence
Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
Commitment to the provision of excellent customer service
Experience in a fast paced, national and multi-site business
Self starter who has the ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines What we can offer you
