Production / Process Team Leader

My client specialises in the manufacture and conversion of Polyurethane moulded products. With a view towards long-term growth, they are looking to recruit two ambitious and dynamic production team leaders for their Alfreton manufacturing facility.

The role involves managing performance with a manufacturing cell; managing both the process and the people with a strong emphasis on ‘continuous improvements’.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
– To organise team and allocate duties to ensure achievement of the production schedule.
– Provide accurate and timely information to planning department when and why schedules are not achieved and when they are likely to be achieved.
– To ensure all stocks in designated area are correct at all times through managing issuing of materials to works orders accurately and timely in conjunction with regular PI checks/Corrective actions
– To control time keeping and breaks.
– To ensure that all Health and Safety procedures and practices are fully adhered to.
– Ensure that team members achieve required job performance standards and that performance issues are identified and dealt with quickly.
– Have working knowledge of Lean activities and principles.
– Carry out regular performance reviews/appraisals with team members.
– To hold regular meetings with your team in order to communicate any issues affecting the team and the business.
– To identify and take lead in implementing improvements in all areas of business with aim of improving Health and Safety aspects, process performance, department/company efficiency.
– To liaise closely with engineering staff to ensure that the TPM process and actions are kept fully up to date.
– To ensure good housekeeping standards are adhered to at all times during teams shift through continual auditing.
– To minimise labour costs where possible I.E. management of Temporary labour.
– To organise Holiday booking ensuring enough cover to complete schedule at no additional cost.
– To adhere to any changes in process to uphold the above duties.

PERSON REQUIREMENTS
You will ideally have come from a process/batch processing environment and be used to managing teams and working with high speed machinery – suitable backgrounds would be from a textiles, printing, coatings, polymers, wrapping/packaging or similar type environment. Please applicants MUST come from a manufacturing background and the role would not suit an assembly or warehouse background.

You will need to have strong man management skills, lead by example and have the ability to learn and adapt to new processes quickly and effectively.
