Salary: £33.6 per hour

COMMUTABLE FROM: Doncaster, Wakefield, Sheffield, Rotherham, Scunthorpe, Leeds, Selby, Pontefract, Barnsley, Worksop, Gainsborough

SHIFT PATTERN: Monday – Friday days (8am – 4:30pm)

COMPANY INFORMATION: Our Client is a leading manufacturer in the Yorkshire area that currently have a large number of contracts in place with major retail brands.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

* A good appreciation & knowledge of mechanical systems.

* The ability to manage process and people effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Excellent health and safety knowledge

* Strong MS office skills

* Good communication skills

* Ability to lead and develop a team of people

* Some knowledge of CI/ Lean manufacturing techniques would be advantageous.

ROLE INFORMATION:

The Production Controller will be responsible for, co-ordinating and controlling the processing department on site; ensuring that the workflow of material through the department is maintained and optimised. The foreperson will ensure that a safe working environment is being maintained, whilst enabling the efficient running of the departmental equipment through the operatives’ team.

* Ensures that the material output of the department matches the input and that any backlogs/bottlenecks are mitigated for.

* Ensuring the labour structure & schedule is being followed; whilst reacting to any changes through the re-organisation of labour.

* Supervision of the local area and making sure that departmental operatives are acting safely at all times.

* Ensure that all operatives have sufficient training for the roles they are carrying out through toolbox talks; signed SWPs (safe working procedures); competency training and specialist training (FLTs, Combis & bandsaw).

* Ensuring that the departmental equipment is running efficiently and effectively whilst working closely with maintenance on PPM (planed preventative maintenance) schedules and breakdowns.

* Developing the operatives to be multi-skilled on machines across the department and working towards a fully populated competency skills matrix.

* Instigating and developing CI (continuous improvement) projects to reflect a six-sigma framework.

* Monitor and analyse material quality through the frameworks provided.

* Perform other duties as required.
