Operations Driving Recruitment Manager

Salary: £29.53 per hour

Ideal Recruit are currently looking to recruit an Operations Resource Lead to assist with a nationwide project, for our client based at multiple Southern sites across Enfield, Basingstoke, Paddock Wood, Banbury, plus some element of work from home

This is a temporary position to begin with for the first 3 months with an opportunity for it to lead to a permanent position. 

Responsibilities: 

Development and execution of strategic and tactical driver attraction initiatives and insights throughout Distribution. Leading project workstream and providing operational best practice across the distribution network. Identify external best practice and deliver performance improvements across the distribution network as well as executing tactical solutions to support site resourcing needs.

To create ideas to deliver tactical driver attraction initiatives across Warburtons Distribution Network, ensuring target pipelining numbers are available in a timely manner

To be a key point of contact between Distribution Managers, Resourcing and People Teams to ensure alignment and execution to the resourcing strategy and plans.

Resourcing numbers met across new sites and BAU and phasing plans identified.

Clear phased plan and timescales anticipating market changes

To proactively network and implement external attraction activity creating opportunities to drive candidate volumes and brand awareness.

Increased applications of relevant and calibre candidates

Establish our Driver Academy internally and externally

To provide weekly updates to the Senior Distribution team on key activity, insights from site visits on retention and plans for pipelining in high risk sites Weekly KPIs’s in relation to planned vacancies and future visibility shared with key stakeholders.

To develop the Driver attraction strategy in conjunction with the Head of Resourcing and Talent Acquisition, Distribution Ops and People Teams

Clear, measurable and communicated attraction strategy, focussing on hard to fill and hotspot areas.

To understand and identify key trends within the industry to provide intelligence to allow the business to effectively plan for resource and have contingency when shortages are foreseen.

Effective plan in place aligned to industry trends and business needs

Lead and support Driver Resourcing Specialist to ensure effective delivery against the plan.

Close liaison with Driver Resourcer(s) Objectives, performance, delivery of Driver Resourcing Specialist managed and monitored.

Effective and productive relationship in place with Driver Resourcers.

To liaise with external companies and potential sources to build relationships.

Drive brand awareness for recruitment attraction purposes.

Increase our reach in local hotspot areas.

Establish long lasting local relationships.

Desireable Experience 

Experienced Manager with people leadership experience, ideally gained in an operational FMCG environment.
Excellent communication skills: influential; persuasive; impactful presentation skills.
Excellent relationship builder- establishing credibility with both internal and external contacts at a senior level.

Previous experience of working within a fast-paced Distribution business within FMCG either in an as part of the site operations team
Experienced in the recruitment/onboarding of Drivers both Class 1 and Class 2 multi-drop
Engaged in projects and attraction/recruitment campaign work including brand promotional activity, local area activity and national recruitment drives for volume hires
A solid understanding of Distribution systems, processes and Operator Licence, Tachograph & Working Time Directive regulations
Good understanding of social media and marketing channels
Experience of working with and managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers
A working knowledge of IT systems
Analytical & problem-solving skills. Good excel and reporting skills.
