Our client is a global engineering consultancy that is showing tremendous growth around the world and is currently rapidly expanding its product and market portfolio within the UK Market. As a part of that growth, we are looking for someone to head up the UK operation and drive business growth across the industrial, engineering and manufacturing sectors. The company offers innovative solutions across multiple disciplinary markets with mechanical, electrical and piping at the forefront of its product portfolio.

Main focus of the role

The Operations Director will take full responsibility for the UK business and drive the business forward.

Responsibilities

As an Operations Director your role will be hands on Technical Delivery based role which will require you to deliver against the following objectives

• Manage the operational aspects of the office including staff development and succession planning
• Work with the commercial team to deliver tenders and proposals to clients
• Offer technical support to the design teams on client projects
• Fulfil all P&L tasks
• Identify new business opportunities and deliver against financial objectives
• Recruit new staff into the business in line with client demands and future growth potential.
• Report all business matters into the US office on a regular basis.

Required Experience & qualifications

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified (Chartered ideally) in Mechanical Engineering and will have demonstrable experience of managing teams and fulfilling technical requirements within Building Services and industrial markets. You will have a good understanding of HVAC systems and will have a design engineering background during your career.
