THE PERSON

A great opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer with a Global Manufacturing company based in the North West.

The purpose of this role is to drive manufacturing best practice through the application of lean tools and principles to rapidly improve Quality, On Time Delivery, Lead Time, and Costs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AS THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

To be considered for this position you must have experience of and will be expected to:

Facilitate rapid lean tools and principles deployment; lead and implement projects and activities on cost, quality and service
*

Facilitate NPI and NPD projects
*

Develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes
*

Deploy, educate and sustain the fundamental Lean tools and principles including 5S, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping Six Sigma and Kanban systems
*

Establish and monitor metrics to ensure success of initiatives
*

Analyse and solve technical problems and provide solutions that can be implemented in a timely manner
*

Assess, coach, and provide constructive feedback to teams to strengthen lean competencies
*

Create and support sustainable visual workplace for instantaneous recognition of continuous improvement activities in all areas

QUALIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Degree in Engineering or related subject
*

Experience of process engineering within an operations environment.
*

Experience managing significant projects.
*

Experience of NPI (New Product Introduction)
*

Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma
*

Strong problem solving skills and knowledge of PFMEA
*

Ability to work with staff at differing levels.
*

Good understanding of ISO & OHSAS requirements
*

Strong communication skills – very customer focused.
*

Ability to assess and upgrade procedures and systems.
