Manufacturing Engineer
Cambridgeshire
Circa £38k
Exciting opportunity for a manufacturing engineer to join an establish organisation that manufacture inkjet printers, laser coders, impulse jet printers and thermal transfer overprinters used on production lines in a wide range of manufacturing sectors. This position will take ownership for cell quality and process improvement through data collection and analysis and root cause countermeasures. The position will manage the implementation of Engineering, Process and Supplier changes into manufacturing.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer
Assessment of components and processes to identify causes of failure
Scrapping of components and returning to suppliers
Support change initiatives in manufacturing
Generate reports on internal cell performance
Drive process improvements
Measure, analyse and improve the efficiency and yield of current manufacturing processes
Liaise with suppliers of both Process Equipment and Direct Material
Support NPI projects
Lead Manufacturing Engineering projects as required
Support improvements of internal process yield and external quality PPM by the redesign and implementation of tooling, jigs, fixtures and test equipment
Use all data gathered to establish optimum capability of current machinery and to justify any capital expenditure required
Drive Lean Manufacturing principles
Lead, mentor and coach Engineering, Manufacturing and Production teams in modern continuous improvement techniques.

Qualifications/Education required for Manufacturing Engineer
Ideally degree in a Mechanical Engineering Discipline but will consider candidates with relevant experience and an HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering Discipline
Relevant experience in electro mechanical assembly industry
Ideal candidate will have worked as a Quality or Manufacturing engineer in electromechanical assembly / manufacturing industry
Knowledge of best practise manufacturing techniques and quality management techniques (such as SPC, Six Sigma).
