Contract: Full time, Fixed Term 12 months

The South of England Rare Breeds Centre is a busy tourist attraction with more than 90,000 visitors a year and also provides valuable training opportunities for adults with learning disabilities enabling them to develop their animal management and customer service skills.
The Farm is a great day out to see traditional rare breed animals and is part of the Canterbury Oast Trust, a leading local charity providing high quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities across Kent and East Sussex.

We are looking to appoint a Life Skills Tutor – Farm on a 12 month fixed term contract working 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday (8.30am – 4.00pm).

As a Life Skills Tutor – Farm working with the Life Skills Coordinator – Farm you will support the development of students with planned learning and training to achieve their learning requirements and/or aspirations.

You will develop, deliver and evaluate accredited learning from the development of lesson plans and planning delivery at appropriate level of audience against a curriculum or syllabus set by the relevant awarding body.

You must have sound knowledge and a good range of practical skills across a broad spectrum of animal species including large farm animals. You will ideally hold a vocational qualification at least one level above the courses being delivered and a Level 2 Assessing Candidates or equivalent qualification.
