Our client is a well-established, well managed adult education provider. Due to winning additional funding/contracts, they wish to appoint the following person to join the team –

Functional Skills Tutor

Based in the Glossop area with some travel.

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000per yearplus mileage

Main objectives
Responsible for delivering maths, English and ICT Functional Skills from Entry to Level 2 associated with classroom based unemployed provision.
Responsible for the design and implementation of schemes of work, session plans and resources.
Responsible for the teaching, learning, assessment and learner support which leads to further training or employment opportunities.
Ensuring minimum standards of achievement rates are met for the delivery of Functional Skills across all programmes.
To teach accredited Functional Skills from Entry level to Level 2 in Maths, English and ICT.
Design, implement and continually develop Schemes of Work, session plans and learning resources.
To deliver the organisation’s Functional Skills programme and support the overall development of learning and development programmes.
Initially assess learner skills and aspirations and identify needs and support required.
Produce an Individual Learning Plan to support Functional Skills development.
Undertake monthly reviews to monitor performance.
To visit and assess learners in the workplace offering 1 to 1 tutoring and training on maths, English and ICT up to level 2 to support achievement of their programme of learning.

Essential experience.
Able to design, deliver and contextualise functional skills training/learning
Previous experience working with unemployed and employed individuals.
Extensive stand alone Functional Skills delivery experience across a variety of sectors.
Previous experience of delivering and supporting maths, English and ICT qualifications up to level 2.

Essential qualifications
PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed
Skills for Life or Functional skills qualification in English, maths and ICT at level 2.

Must be a car owner/driver.
