Laboratory Technician (Cosmetics)

Merit is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity! Due to department growth, my client is seeking a Development Technician for a permanent position based in Alton, Hampshire.

Main Responsibilities:

• Development and preparation of new product formulations.
• Ensuring compliance with both regulatory and customer requirements at all times.
• Carry out research in to raw materials that can be incorporated into products.
• Assist in the manufacture of products on a small scale and in large scale production batches.
• Packing off products for trials, consumer tests, and customers.
• Liaise and work with other departments including Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales & Business Development.
• Assist in the maintenance of Product Development database.
• Ensure records of all work are accurately maintained and up-to-date – and all paperwork is well documented and to the required guidelines.

Skills & Experience required:

• Scientific background and laboratory experience is required.
• Knowledge in the formulation and development of cosmetics and toiletries is preferred.
• Knowledge in the availability of raw material and functionality is also preferred.
• Ability to efficiently plan, organise and manage own workload and proactively use own initiative.
• Ability to use computerised information systems to input, retrieve and update all relevant data.

Salary: £26,000per yearper anum
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00 – 2:00pm
