Laboratory Technician

Salary: £26,000 per year

The Role:

We are looking for a versatile Laboratory Technician to join our team in Chesterfield.

The role will encompass a diverse range of Laboratory responsibilities, including general lab administration, a variety of different Lab tests and various other daily laboratory duties.

Whilst previous experience working within a Laboratory environment is preferable, it is not essential as we are looking for a keen team player who can learn on the job.

Perhaps you have previous administration experience and want to enter a role which will involve being more hands on?

Important data entry will be a fundamental part of this role, so a keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential. 

Core responsibilities:

Data entry of important test results

Booking in work samples which require testing

Checking client contracts and liaising with them to ensure their testing requirements are met

Following stringent quality procedures to perform testing

Carrying out various soil tests throughout the lab

Liaise with the quality department to book in calibration or report equipment failure

Maintain good laboratory practice, maintenance of laboratory equipment and safe working procedures.

Always maintain good housekeeping standards. Keeping all areas clean, tidy, and free from obstruction and hazards. Any other tasks assigned by your senior or lab manager 
Experience / Skills:

Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy

Experience in laboratory administration or testing is advantageous but not essential Polite, conscientious attitude
