Our client specialises in providing data centre, cloud, connectivity and voice solutions. As a result of year-on-year growth, they are now seeking a Junior Network Support Engineer to join their talented team.

As a Junior Network Support Engineer, you will have the chance to learn and develop your networking skills with a cutting edge network provider in their technologically advanced service environment.

Learning a multitude of new technologies and products, you will be supported by a talented team of Cisco and Juniper certified experts who will ensure you enhance your skill-set and your future potential.

Specifically, you will be tasked with supporting customer networks and delivering standard service offerings. Your support work will involve DSL and Ethernet LANs and WANs, routers, switches and firewalls.

Offering a complete service from receipt of order through to customer handover, you will configure equipment to ensure readiness for deployment and support the Data Centre network infrastructure as required.

Additionally, you will have the chance to become involved in day-to-day Data Centre operations tasks, which involve customer access, cabling and tape rotation,

As part of your role, you will join an on-call rota to cover out-of-hours eventualities. There is also a requirement for you to, on occasion, travel to customer and remote sites throughout the UK.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous network support experience which includes the following:

– Experience of supporting Cisco and/or Juniper networking LAN and WAN solutions
– Experience of providing remote network support to customers
– Good technical abilities with a solid grounding in routing and switching products and technologies
– An understanding of IP addressing and subnetting

A full driving licence is also essential.

Enthusiastic and eager, as a Junior Network Support Engineer, you must possess a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to pick up and learn new technologies quickly within a fast-paced, changing environment.

A Cisco CCNA and/or Juniper JNCIA certification would be beneficial to your application.
