Java Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing management software company who have worked with many of the big players in the telecommunications, broadcast and media industries!

The client is looking for a Java Developer with at least 3 years experience to help them transition away from their existing Perl Architecture to one based on Java. As a member of the development team you will not only be responsible for this, but also supporting and modifying the existing platform during the transitional period so any knowledge of Perl will be beneficial, though not essential. An in depth knowledge of Java EE6 stack, including Hibernate, JPA, JTA, and JAX-WS is vital. As the system is and will be reliant on web services, knowledge of traditional SOAP/XML and modern REST/JSON web services is a must. The successful candidate will also have strong knowledge of SQL, JPA and/or Hibernate as the system is heavily reliant on databases and so these skills will be essential in order to write database (vendor) agnostic code. You will also need to have an element of 3rd line support experience to maintain existing and new systems. An understanding of MVC architecture is also required.

In order to be considered for this role you must have good written and spoken English skills. Any experience in telecommunications, broadcast and media or finance verticals is an advantage, but not a necessity.

NB: THIS ROLE WILL BE RELOCATING TO NEWBURY IN 12 MONTHS TIME.

Salary: £54,000 – £66,000package
