Java Developer

Now recruiting for a Printer/Photocopier manufacturer who are looking for a Java developer to join their team. Sector experience would be very advantageous.

Job Purpose: To develop bespoke solutions for the Company’s web enabled Multi Function Devices (printers, copiers etc)

Primary Activities:

•
Developing applications using various programming languages and technologies – Primarily Java
•
Supporting other developers both internal and external in relation to the MFD software development
•
Meeting company subsidiaries and/or customers throughout Europe and the world to investigate problems and fix bugs where necessary
•
Documenting requirements. Creating and executing test plans
•
Presentation of your own and others solutions to the company’s personnel and/or customers
•
Flexibility is a must and must be willing to assist in all area of the groups activities from admin to leading projects.
•
Travel may be required occasionally

Person Specification:

•
Relvant degree
•
Minimum of 3 years commercial development experience
•
of Client/Server and/or Cloud applications
•
Programming languages and technologies

•
Java (J2EE, Web Services (SOAP/JSON, XML)
•
PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript
•
Character encodings (Unicode/UTF 8 etc)
•
Experience of debugging with Wireshark/Ethereal or similar.
•
Eclipse or similar
•
SQL Administration (creating new databases, tables, databases,
indexes etc)
•
SQL querying (select,insert etc)
