Dedicate Recruitment is working in partnership with this medium size Multi Academy Trust, comprised of seven special and three alternative provision units (PRU’s) and one mainstream school, with an attached PRU. They have grown quickly in the last 18 months with a vision to provide the highest standards of education and development for all of their pupils.
Due to succession planning within the finance team, they are now seeking an exceptional Management Accountant with an established track record in supporting a busy finance function with the production of management reports and budget information for a combined budget of £27M.
Reporting to the Finance Director, your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis reports, and monthly and quarterly forecast for all Academies using Access Education Finance reporting system
* Advising Head Teachers and staff on budget management and expenditure
* Dealing with payroll provider, preparing and inputting payroll journals
* Advising and assisting Budget Holders on operational issues
* Preparing and developing business plans, budgets, forecasts and actual monitoring reports
* Signing off all reconciliations
* Contributing to contract and supplier management including due diligence financial checks
* Supporting an Assistant Management Accountant and Purchase Ledger Clerk
* Ensuring all financial reporting is compliant with the ESFA Academy Finance Handbook
* Ad hoc duties
This is a busy and demanding role which requires good organisational skills and strong technical accounting know how. The successful candidate will be an actively studying finalist or holds a full CIMA/ACCA qualification. You will be experienced in leading on management accounts reporting across a multi site role. Experience gained within a regulated organisation within the public sector is highly desirable.
On a personal note, you will possess strong communication and written skills and be confident in advising and influencing senior leaders. Be proactive, positive and flexible, as you will be required to cover when staff are on leave within this small team. Advanced Excel is essential.
