Import Customer Service Clerk

The position would ideally suit someone with some Freight Forwarding experience.
Full training will be given.
Working in a busy shipping office.
The role is to ensure all clients receive excellent customer service, build a good working relationship with other team members.

Receiving documentation (vessel arrival/devan date)
Job loading onto Jubilee, obtain additional information, clearance point etc
Chase for missing documents
Release/lodge Bills of Lading
Obtain UCN and check shipment via port inventory systems
Obtain pre booking from customer where possible to avoid delay upon customs clearance
Ensure delivery bookings are allocated to all consignments
Completion of Home Use and CFSP entries
Translate paperwork descriptions into correct commodity codes
Calculate with Duty/VAT amounts
Using Chief directly & via software interfaces to amend declarations
Complete post clearance amendments
Liaise with Customs and Port Authorities to facilitate release of cargo

The successful candidate must have good organizational skills, be able to prioritise, with a good telephone manner.
