Health and Safety Manager – Construction

Got the App My client a globally recognised construction principal is looking to recruit a diploma (or similar) qualified Health and Safety Manager to manage Health & Safety and environmental compliance across several multi million pound capital construction projects throughout central London.

You will manage health and safety across a wide and varied project portfolio of capital projects predominantly multi story high rise RC frame commercial and residential builds exceeding £100 million in value so previous experience managing health and safety on highly populated multi million pound high rise projects would be highly desirable but not essential. Previous experience managing health and safety across multiple, highly staffed (principal internal stakeholders and sub contractor organisations) construction projects with a number of tower cranes associated to it would also be looked upon favourably.

You will be predominantly office based in central London with daily visits to projects under your control and will work closely with internal and external clients, HSE and JV partners in a very client facing capacity therefore excellent presentation and communication skills are essential. Just as important to the client as the technical capability and project experience is the personality and background of the successful candidate. The successful candidate should be confident enough to challenge the status quo and not just agree with all information put to them. This approach can only really come from life experiences and the confidence gained in your own ability therefore the client would be very happy to consider anyone with outstanding achievements or goals outside of the commercial field (Swimming the channel, climbing Everest, 3 peek challenge, Dakar Rally etc).

The client is ideally looking for a candidate with a NEBOSH diploma / NVQ Level 4 / degree or similar qualification and commercial experience of CDM, tower cranes (BS5975 and BS7121), and large multi million pound high rise construction projects. However, the client will consider applications from candidates that do not meet all the qualification criteria but do have previous experience on large multi million pound high rise construction projects with heavy lifting or tower crane aspects.

Salary
