Health Administrative Assistant – Hospice at Home

Our client is proud of its reputation as ‘Warrington`s Favourite Charity`, providing specialist palliative care for patients living with life limiting illnesses. They now have an exciting opportunity for Health Administrative Assistant in their new ‘Hospice at Home` team. The successful candidate will join this dedicated hospice team whose work supports the continued provision of the Hospice`s highly valued services.

The role of Health Administrative Assistant will be to provide a comprehensive administrative, organisational, clerical and general support to the ‘Hospice at Home` Team, as well as supporting the wider Clinical Services Administration Team. Duties and responsibilities for the role of Health Administrative Assistant will include:

– Work closely with, and be guided by, our ‘Hospice at Home` Clinical Team in planning and carrying out all administrative processes and tasks
– Be responsible for all arrangements relating to planned staff training sessions
– Under the direction of the Clinical Team, develop and prepare leaflets, information packs and training packs needed to develop and sustain the service. 
– Create PowerPoint presentations to be used during information sessions
– Create and maintain auditable records.
– Maintain filing systems (electronic and hard copy).
– Take minutes/notes at meetings, as and when required, for ‘Hospice at Home` and other Clinical/Hospice Meetings.
– Be responsible for collating feedback from patients/carers and key stakeholders of the service, making this information available so that services can be continuously updated and improved based on that feedback.
– From time to time provide a general clerical support service for the Hospice Administrative Team, i.e. typing, photocopying and filing.

The Health Administrative Assistant will have the following experience, qualities and knowledge to be successful in the role:

– Educated to A Level or equivalent, or with three years relevant experience
– Qualified or trained in Microsoft Office applications

– Proficient typing skills, including audio typing
– Excellent interpersonal skills.
– Able to communicate logically and clearly in writing and verbally.
– Able to work autonomously.
– Organisation, time management and decision making skills.
– Have high attention to detail
– Flexible can do attitude.
– Experience of working in an administrative role.
– Experience of working in a customer facing role or dealing with people on a day to day basis.
– High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
– Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
– Good telephone manner.
– Ability to exercise discretion and with confidential and sensitive matters.

The position of Health Administrative Assistant is full time – 37.5hrs per week. The candidate will receive a salary Circa £26,000 per year and Benefits including Free Parking, Contributory Company Group Pension Plan, Life Assurance and Medical Cash Plan – T&C`s apply.

The post is not a salary incremental post and pay reviews are at the discretion of the Hospice.
