Head of Marketing (College Group)

College location: This is a Cross-College role working at both East Surrey College (Redhill) and at John Ruskin College (Selsdon, Croydon)

Salary: Competitive (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: Full time (37 hours/week)

This is an exciting position suited to a dynamic and committed marketing, public relations, communications professional who combines demonstrable leadership skills with proven background, to lead on the Group’s marketing strategy and planning through a dedicated marketing team whilst ensuring that activity, style and presentation match the overall vision, mission and strategic aims of Orbital South Colleges.

In this exciting role you will:

* Develop and implement integrated Strategy and manage projects ensuring they are aligned with the Colleges’ core aims

* Ensure communications and marketing platforms are fit for purpose and will lead on the development of Group websites

* Plan and organise events for the College Group such

* Consult upon, develop, implement and ensure the maintenance of the corporate brand and image

* Lead the College Group marketing team, drive marketing campaigns and take a lead role in College events

* Build positive relationships with local media contacts drive the reach of key College and Group messages

The candidate must have criteria:

* A degree or higher qualification in the relevant subject (ideally in a Marketing related subject)

* Proven experience in a similar role

* Advanced design skills, along with exemplary copywriting and proof reading skills

* Inspire success through organisational excellence, providing strong leadership and management across a broad spectrum of activities.

* Experience of managing, coaching and improving the performance of others

* Promote the College’s reputation, profile and interests with students, employers and community groups

A member of the Senior Management team and reporting to the Principal, the successful applicant will ideally have experience from working within the Education Sector. Alternatively, the role might suit an exceptional individual with experience gained outside the sector but who has an instinctive feel for the College stakeholders and their needs, bringing with them the relevant skills to undertake this exciting role.
