General Manager

A rare and exciting opportunity has recently presented itself to join a family owned dealership as a General Manager. This will be based in the heart of Kent and will require your previous knowledge and expertise to lead and inspire a small team. This particular dealer group will allow you to run the dealership as you see fit ensuring volume and profit opportunities are maximised.

The role:

* Manage team performance to achieve key targets and deliver continuous improvement and monitor training and development needs within the team
* Ensure all appropriate operational resources and investments are in place across the business to enable the fulfilment of long term growth plans
* Deliver outstanding customer service and establish a customer retention rate to match brand targets
* Work in partnership with the manufacturer to contribute to network and brand development
* Forge and cascade an organisational culture throughout the whole business which reflects local individuality and the brand
* Work in partnership with the manufacturer to contribute to network and brand development
* Maximise dealership profitability through the sale of vehicles, associated products, parts and labour in a given market territory and ensure the long term sustainability of the businesses and the brand across the territory
* Set a vision and direction for the business that reflects the individuality of the local opportunity and environment whilst ensuring a consistent standard of brand representation
* Continuously review and improve sales processes and systems to deliver increased levels of customer satisfaction whilst maximising profitability
* Provide clear leadership and direction for the business and act as a role model to all employees

Who we are looking for:

* Previous or current senior management experience is preferred
* Someone with current General Sales Manager experience looking for the next step will also be considered
* You must possess excellent management skills and have an enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude
* Focused, ambitious and keen to apply your knowledge to all aspects of the dealership
* Be able to efficiently work under pressure
* Excellent personal, marketing and communication skills are essential

What’s on offer?

£40,000 – £50,000 basic

£65,000 OTE
