Salary: £40,738 – £47,528 per year
Hours:28 hours per week. Normal working hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (including a 1 hour unpaid lunch break). Overtime is not payable
There is a six-month probation period for this post.
Job Purpose
This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to implement an effective fundraising strategy which will help generate income to assist our client in achieving their charitable objectives.
The candidate will be in charge of maintaining relationship development with stakeholders and funding partners and driving fundraising campaigns.
Tasks and Responsibilities
To develop fundraising strategy.
Meet arranged targets and maximise income for all fundraising activities
To develop annual business plans alongside the head of business.
Manage and develop a fundraising marketing plan that is effective.
Create new, innovative and effective fundraising initiatives, developing them into successful bids and asks for income.
Ensure an agreed return on investment by delivering fundraising campaigns to the highest standards.
Work alongside and line manager the Trust and Foundations fundraiser to oversee a stream of trust and foundation income.
To develop an individual donor strategy working with the senior communications and campaigns officer and to deliver against plans.
To develop new propositions for corporate support and develop existing corporate relationships.
Create and manage a portfolio of corporate supporters to develop fundraising opportunities and increase income.
Cultivate and develop effective communications to deliver increased donations income and income from legacies.
To work collaboratively across the organisation to identify new funding opportunities and develop these into successful bids.
Prepare and finalise bids for submission ensuring they are targeted, SMART and meet the criteria of the funders.
Maximise opportunities to increase fundraising income across its range of annual and one-off policy, campaigning and welfare rights events and activities.
To pro-actively promote the work of CPAG to further secure its reputation as the UK’s leading charity in fighting child poverty.
Manage the expenditure budgets and fundraising income.
Produce reports for Management, Board of Trustees as required.
To organise and plan effective cover during periods of planned and unexpected absence.
To act in ways that complies in all aspects of Equal Opportunities Policy (EOP)
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
A minimum of three years’ experience in a fundraising environment.
Proven ability to think strategically and creatively about fundraising potential and to contribute to the strategic planning of the organisation as a whole.
Experience of securing funds by crafting persuasive written applications and nurturing relationships with key individuals.
Experience drafting project budgets and managing fundraising budgets.
Experience of managing a database or CRM system effectively.
Essential
Proven ability of excellent writing and presentation skills, including preparation of fundraising materials, copy for websites, donor reports, etc.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability quickly to build a rapport and working relationship with colleagues stakeholders at all levels.
Experience of ensuring accurate and effective fundraising administration and of producing management reports.
Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.
Ability to manage concurrent deliverables and work under pressure on a daily basis.
Strong self-motivation and the ability to work on personal initiative as well as working effectively as part of a small team.
Sensitivity to the cause and to factors that may affect our supporters.
