Financial Controller / Director

Salary: £84,000 per year

LHH is working exclusively with an SME in Coventry to recruit a Financial Controller (Routes into Finance Director within 1/2 years) to oversee the finance function. You will report directly into the CEO and be responsible for driving change, process improvements, project leading and supporting the long term operational & financial growth.

With the business having a hands-on finance manager, this role would ideally suit someone looking for a varied & engaging role, where you’d be responsible for business partnering non-finance stakeholders, providing key performance analysis and input into the 5 year strategic plan.

The successful candidate will ideally be local to Coventry, but the business is open to flexible working patterns and hybrid working.

Duties

• Producing documents for, and positively contributing to, the monthly Board meetings both within the UK and EMEA Head Office
• Building financial models to improve the accuracy of the company budgeting & forecasting process
• Provide and facilitate strategic focus for the business and its senior members
• Actively participate and contribute to the information required for client Tender processes
• Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Finalise and analyse monthly management accounts including posting accruals, depreciation etc.
• Stock Reporting and Stock Audit over 4 plants
• Manage, coach and motivate an established small Finance team
• Working with Product Managers on pricing and margin analysis and assisting with pricing changes in line with raw material fluctuations
• Producing the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts
• Leading and managing the year end Audit Process with the assistance of the Finance Manager
• Preparing documentation required for the Corporation Tax computation
• Managing annual renewals of leases, utilities, healthcare etc.

About you

• Qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW)
• Experience as a senior finance member within a SME
• Has been involved with driving change (Process improvements, project leading, integrations, pricing etc)
