Financial Controller

Salary: £26,000 – £26,344.5 per year

Are you looking for a senior role within a small finance team?

The finance team consists of a credit controller and a consultant to support you, the current Finance Controller who is going on maternity leave later in the year will make sure your fully trained and up to speed on all elements of the role.

You’ll be liaising with the Connells Finance Team and occasionally with the Skipton Finance Team to ensure that all accounts, budgets, forecasts etc comply with Group Procedures. This will also include working with EY the Group’s Company auditors.

The role will be based at HQ Newcastle House. Currently this is on a rota basis to comply with government guidelines regarding corona-virus (working mainly in HQ to deal with month end for about 2 weeks and working remotely the other two weeks), however as soon as we are able, this will revert back to working full time in HQ and there will be no option to work remotely.

An overview of what you’ll be responsible for

* Hands on input into the day-to-day operations of the business, adding value from a financial perspective

* Deliver a full finance pack for review by the board on a monthly basis and report on performance variances

* Prepare full FRS 102 year-end financial statements

* Prepare the corporation tax return

* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, including the calculation of partial exemption

* Run the annual audit function, and liaise with auditors as and when required

* Prepare budgets, business plans and forecasts

* Maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company

* Manage cash flow and assist with any other duties as required by the MD.

What you can bring to this position

* ACA/ACCA qualified;

* Ability to prioritize workload and meet extremely tight reporting deadlines

* Flexible, dynamic mindset

* Strong knowledge and experience with Sage Line 50 Accounts

* Strong Excel skills (pivot tables etc)

* Excellent communicator and a strong team player who is prepared to get involved in all aspects of the finance department

* Can do attitude to problem solving
