Spencer Ogden – Finance are exclusively supporting a Global Manufacturing business in securing the hottest prospective Financial Controller in the North West for a new opportunity at their Cheshire headquarters.

The Finance Controller will provide financial control and management to provide high level data and support to the business to enable successful month-end closure and reporting.
The role has been created due to an international merger which has expanded the businesses reach from a European market into Global coverage.

Main Responsibilities:

* Demonstrate commercial awareness and strong understanding of business needs
* Able to manage self and others to meet tight and demanding deadlines
* Apply disciplined and methodical approach towards problem solving and drive process improvement
* Lead, coach and empower team members to broaden and enrich their capabilities
* Communicate effectively across functional areas and articulate
* Manage/prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
* Review and verification of balance sheet reconciliations
* Investigating queries and data production
* Generation and review of entity and Business Unit management reports
* Administration of cost reporting and analysis
* Compilation of a detailed month end audit file
* Preparation of monthly calculation of income tax and deferred tax
* Correct and timely completion of statutory reporting of indirect taxation and associated returns
* Preparation of annual accounts and management of year end local audit cycle
* Preparation of annual tax return data in conjunction with tax advisors
* Assist in complying with the timely submission of monthly US GAAP reporting requirements
* To prepare and respond to all management information requests

The role is specifically looking for a Qualified Accountant in ACA/ACCA or CIMA with who is looking to add value to their CV whilst being employed by a Global business that are recognised as being highly regarded in their sector. You will get the opportunity to travel with this position therefore you need to have flexibility to meet the demands of the business.

Due to the nature of the industry sector a confident and articulate style and a focus to drive excellence within finance through the wider business is an absolute must.

This is ideally suited to a candidate with a robust technical knowledge who has demonstrable experience in the above responsibilities.

Qualifications:

* University degree in Finance or Business-related subject, or equivalent experience
* Qualified in a recognised professional accountancy qualification
* 5 or more years of experience of working in a commercial background within a large or multinational business
* Strong systems/processes background
* Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
* Proactive, analytical, logical and disciplined approach to problem solving
* Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised on own initiative
* Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to converse at all levels
* Good English language skills – both verbal and literate (additional language knowledge beneficial)
* Flexible, as the job may require travel and additional working hours
* Proficient with using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
