INTRODUCTION
The Process and Analytical Development Group is a development and technology transfer Group playing a key role in the translational research activities of the biotech site. Its role is to develop manufacturing processes and associated analytical methods for use in the cGMP production of bio therapeutics and healthcare interventions.
JOB SUMMARY
He/she will provide a scientific and technical specialism in the area of culturing and growth or organisms from bench scale to pilot scale fermentation systems to projects involved in the development of processes for the manufacture of biopharmaceutical products. The post holder will contribute to areas of Quality by Design/Design of Experiments, fermentation process and media development, scale-up and validation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide scientific and technical specialism in the area of culturing and growth or organisms from bench scale to pilot scale fermentation systems

Develop methods for scaling up of processes for manufacture of Biopharma products.

Contribute to the technology transfer of information
Person specification
Qualification – Essential
BSc in biological sciences/ biochemistry/ biotechnology/bio-medical sciences
Qualification – Desirable
PhD/MSc in a biochemical/biotechnological discipline
Knowledge and experience – Essential
Minimum of 1 years’ relevant laboratory experience with practical knowledge of bacterial physiology, germentation design, media development, scale up and analytical methods.
Knowledge and experience – Desirable
Experience of working with pathogenic microbes
Understanding of GMP and other regulatory requirements
