Salary: £35,502 – £38,165 per year

Facilities Management- Engineering Technician- Permanent- Frankfurt- to €43,000 + benefits

My client a leading Facilities Management Service provider is recruiting an Engineering Technician to ensure the delivery of a best in class engineering service delivery and operational standards. Supporting the Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure of the clients Mission Critical and Non – Critical Environments in the designated facility. Suitable experience in the Building Services Industry and experience of working with Maintenance Management Systems. Excellent/fluent speaker of German and English.

Reporting Lines:

*Engineering Technician for Engineering Service Delivery
*Local Facilities Management Team for Daily Operational Duties in the Frankfurt building
*Indirect reports shall consist of Specialist contractors employed to carry out Repairs and Maintenance of Engineering services within respective building(s),

Job Summary:
*Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance, minor improvements and support of capital work where required for Frankfurt site planned and reactive M&E jobs that are logged on the Internal CMMS Systems (Service Insight)
*Ensure jobs are completed to a high standard
*Ensure jobs are completed wherever possible within the agreed Client contract SLA’s
*Coordinate job extensions with local FM management and the Helpdesk
*Carry out ad-hoc M&E tasks issued by the FM Lead
*Work closely with the FM Lead to form a cohesive and dedicated team ethic and partnership with the client.
*Provide information to FM Lead for monthly and ad – hoc reports to the central team and client
*As part of an on call team, provide on call support as required, with on-site response for critical service calls within agreed time.
*Act as an escalation point for all technical alarms and issues, which may occur in Frankfurt during on call duty.
*Ensure all M&E activities comply with all company, legal and client requirements for Health and Safety, Quality Management, environmental policies and general duty of care.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

*Work as part of a multi skilled team to ensure the seamless delivery of M&E services at Frankfurt site, Germany.
*Liaising with the Engineering Management team
*To comply with the “CLIENT” & “EMPLOYER” policies on Health & Safety, COSHH and other statutory legislation
*Cooperate fully with audit findings in relation to “CLIENT” or “EMPLOYER” Performance audits
*Investigating complaints and taking appropriate action
*Ensuring feedback is provided to the helpdesk on progress of M&E jobs.
*Closing out of PM and Reactive Tasks including submission of appropriate service sheets to the central engineering team
*Population, submission and oversight of change management process / documentation for all critical works
*Carry out specialist technical and non-technical work as deemed appropriate to the continuing maintenance function of the “CLIENT” site and to assist the Engineering Technician Supervisor
*Offer technical support and back up as required
*Ensure all personnel and contractors that may be working in hazardous areas take all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment
*Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with safe systems of work and permit to work procedures
*Use all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works
*Carry out risk assessments for ad-hoc activities and monitor of day to day implementation of safe working procedures and safe systems of work
*Carry out and/or adhere to any reasonable request made by “EMPLOYER” Management
*Handling subcontractors which includes escorting maintenance work, setting up of PPM Tasks, reviewing and approving quotations, checking and managing invoices, carrying out contract management tasks
*Redundancy for local FM (Frankfurt site) in case of holidays or sickness.
*Reviewing operational practices and improving efficiencies / reducing costs
*Providing “best practice” delivery services regarding M and E Services
*Fulfill the required scope of service expectations of the client
*Dealing with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements, activities related to M&E and Energy management services.
* Facilitating property inspections carried out by the client’s Property Insurance Company

Essential Skills:

*Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an established educational body would be required
*Experience of performing/supervising M&E maintenance and repair services related to critical assets and critical environments.
*Proven track record of Building Fabric related work
*Good communication skills
*Health & Safety Management experience
*Computerised Maintenance Systems experience
*Good knowledge of general building services
*Good PC literacy, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet)
*Ability to deliver excellent customer service
*Self-motivation with the ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload
*Ability to work a shift pattern if required
*Ability to communicate and be client facing
*Good English language knowledge
*Excellent/fluent speaker of German
*Background of working alone and using own initiative
*Solve problems and make decisions in a logical manner
*Experience in monitoring deadlines and performance in-line with required standards outlined within a contract
*Flexible approach to working with the ability to think ‘outside of the box’
*Efficient, enthusiastic and flexible
*Knowledge of engineering systems and plant of various age and technology
*Experience of managing engineering small projects within a live office and critical environment

Qualifications / Experience / Professional Memberships:
*Suitable experience in the Building Services Industry
*Experience of working with Maintenance Management Systems
