Fabricator Welder

Position: Fabricator/Welder
Location: Margate, Kent
Duration: On-going, potentially long term
Shift: Days
Salary: £26,000per year rising to £26,000 per year + potential for overtime

Job Overview
Manufacture by welding component parts to drawing specifications, engineering standards and accepted engineering principles. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and is based in Margate, Kent

Key Responsibilities:
* To fit and weld component parts for frames and enclosures to quality standards.
* Working to weekly production schedules which may be demanding due to high volumes.
* Expected to be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings to complete fabrication
* Be an active team player and be able to work within a larger team structure.
* Be active in assisting the working area in maintaining a safe, clean, efficient working area.

Experience Required:
* Demonstrable relevant experience in welding/fabrication within a sheet metal manufacturing environment using MIG, TIG or ARC/MMA.

Education/qualifications required:

Recognised Qualifications:- Desirable
ABC Certificate Level 1, 2 or 3 in Fabrication & Welding Practice.
City & Guilds Award in Welding Skills; Certificate Level 1, 2 or 3 in Engineering.
BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering with Fabrication & Welding; Mechanical Engineering.
National Vocational Qualification Level 1, 2 or 3 Performing Engineering Operations; Fabrication & Welding Engineering; Welding with Platework; Fabrication & Welding.
Or other qualifications that include MIG (metal inert gas), TIG (tungsten inert gas) or MMA/ARC (manual metal arc) – Desirable
Or time served Apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment – Desirable
Or demonstrable proven work experience in welding in a manufacturing environment – Essential
Note: This role will require the applicant to undertake a MIG weld test on our site.
