Fabricator Welder

Salary: £14.4 – £15.6 per hour

Our client is seeking to employ an experienced Fabricator Welder for their busy workshop base in the west midlands. The ideal candidate will be able to produce medium to heavy structural and plate fabrications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out fabrication work in accordance with the workshop/fabrication method statements
• Notify Line Manager of any potential non-compliance
• Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported in accordance with Company procedures
• Work with the team to ensure that the recycling actions identified within the Environmental plans are carried out
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with the necessary specifications and that the Company quality monitoring procedures are adhered to
• Read engineering drawings and produce quality, heavy fabrications to tight tolerances
• Use measuring equipment, oxy fuel/plasma cutting equipment, saws, punches and drilling machines
• Carry out slinging duties, using 5 ton and 10 ton overhead gantry cranes
• Ensure materials and hours worked are booked on daily timesheet and handed into fabrication office weekly
• Ensure all materials used from stock are authorised and booked to the procedures
• Deliver agreed production levels

Experience and Qualifications:

• Overhead Gantry Cranes, Oxy Fuel Cutting experience
• Welder qualifications BS EN 287, BE EN 9606 part 1
• Overhead crane experience
• Ability to work well within a team, but also with minimum supervision
• Good housekeeping
