£55-60K depending on experience
Engineering Manager required for a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer on the outskirts of Nottingham. Looking for a highly motivated, flexible, and customer-focused Engineering Manager with a background in FMCG, packaging, or pharmaceuticals.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the manufacturing equipment and critical systems on-site leading a team of highly skilled engineers and team leaders. People focussed they concentrate on developing and coaching their team to deliver a high level of performance reducing equipment downtime and increasing equipment availability through engineering best practices.
Scope of Role
* To maximize team performance through leadership, motivation, training, communication, and full involvement of staff with the aim of developing self-managed, flexible and motivated teams.
* Demonstrate a High-level commitment to achieve business objectives.
* Coordinate engineering activities and support to ensure production targets are achieved and customer service levels are maintained at all times.
* Identify areas of opportunity to advance business performance through capital investment in new technology, ways of working and system design.
* Support the site NPI programme and deliver the required changes to plant and equipment cost-effectively.
* Implement and maintain site engineering best practices including RCA/FMEA to maximize plant availability.
* To manage departmental budget and contract ownership of services relating to manufacturing and critical systems.
Experience / Qualifications
* Significant practical engineering experience including a supervisory role managing a team of 10-20
* 5 years’ experience working in an FMCG environment
* A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
* Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in English
* IOSH / NEBOSH Qualification with relevant experience of Health and Safety systems.
* Demonstrated Project Management experience.
* Budget/Capex experience
* Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
* Used to engaging others at all levels of the business
* Strong Impact and influencing skills
This position is a day’s role but will require you to work flexibly according to business requirements.
