Engineering Manager

Salary: £72,000 – £84,000 per year

As an electrically qualified Engineering Manager can you lead, coach, and develop the dedicated, experienced, and new engineering team members during an exciting phase of expansion?

Responsible to the MD, as the Engineering Manager you will manage all areas of the engineering team from design and technical support to compliance i.e. CE, UKCA and UL/CUL, collaborating with the commercial, procurement, production, and quality teams. This is a technically interesting and varied opportunity as new national and international markets are opened by the sales team, so your engineering team will need to be ready to accept the challenge.

Engineering Manager accountabilities:

* Management of your team from design to compliance, safety to project management, budgetary control to meeting customer needs

* Strategy and process development to meet business objectives, mitigating risk and contributing to business opportunities

* Technically overseeing design and build from order to test, delivery and customer handover, working closely with colleagues on product development and market trends

* Commercial input from building strong customer relationships to product specification and quotations, interpreting customer requirements in conjunction with the commercial team

* Ownership of engineering policies, guidelines, and documentation to maintain high quality product and work standards through continuous improvement

* Ensuring electrical compliance standards, Health and Safety and all relevant processes are in place and adhered to

Engineering Manager skills and experience

* Degree in Electrical Engineering with a working knowledge of CE and UKCA standards, UL 508 standard and others such as BS EN 61439 and BS EB 60204

* Experience of managing, developing, motivating, and leading a technical team to be creative, pragmatic, commercial, innovative and solve problems

* Organized, strategic, attention to detail with excellent customer service and relationship management skills utilising your well-rounded communication abilities

* IT literate including MS Office, AutoCAD electrical or similar with knowledge of using ERP systems

* Demonstrable experience working in a busy engineering manufacturing environment along with project management skills

* Full clean driving licence
