Engineering Manager (Technical Manager) – South Wales based

Engineering Manager (Technical Manager) – Job Purpose:

To manage, support and coordinate the company’s design and technical processes through liaison with internal and external project stakeholders, ensuring optimum decision making and company performance with regards to all pre and post construction activities undertaken.

Engineering qualities should be at the forefront of their responsibilities with particular interest to sectional agreement (Highways, drainage and sewers) including management of external consultants in the production of designs and drawings. Working to an internal brief from the relevant management teams, to produce commercially appropriate designs and to acceptable and satisfactory adoptable standards for the appropriate Authorities.

Engineering Manager (Technical Manager) – Dimensions of role

* The candidate will be responsible for approximately 10 No. developments per annum – split between those in concept and pre-construction stages, on site and some at post completion (adoptions) stages.

* Financial turnover of £80m + with approx. 20 to 25 concept developments per year.

Engineering Manager (Technical Manager) – Person Specification:

* 5-10 years’ experience in an engineering based professional role

* Preferably degree educated.

* Proven level of experience and ability in civil engineering and adoption management.

* Sound knowledge of other construction disciplines including Architectural & M&E.

* Commercially aware with the ability to recognise value engineering opportunities.

* Good level of written and verbal communication.

* Medium level of IT skills and knowledge.

* High level of negotiating skills and experience.

* Aptitude towards relationship building.

* Driving licence essential
