Circa £54,000 per annum + (depending on experience) + Bonus and Benefits

Working for a successful SME you will lead Engineering design, development of current and new on-site testing products, perform product and project management functions to maintain the current product range and facilitate successful New Product Introduction in line with the targets for business growth. 

You will manage a small engineering team who have a wide range of responsibility including technical support, product application, product testing, drafting, BOM management & engineering changes.

Responsibilities include:

• Producing, maintaining and amending existing and new CAD & product drawings (using Solidworks)
• Managing the daily activities of the engineering team in line with business goals
• Takes the lead for new product development and introduction, including running meetings, project timelines and presentations
• Ensuring personnel and work meets the quality standards required (ISO 9001)
• Liaison with sub-contractors working closely with the Production Manager
• Working with the Technical Writer to ensure supporting documentation accurately represents the product
• Performs VOC (voice of customer) exercises with others to feed into existing new products
• Can engage directly with key accounts for engineering problem solving and solutions
• Creates test agendas in line with global compliance requirements
• Has overall responsibility for all parts, BOM creation and management in S.A.P

Skills & experience required:

• A Degree in Engineering / Mechanical Design is ideally required
• Ideally 5 years + in CAD Design (Solidworks) experience is preferred
• Previous Management experience in a similar role will also be required
• Experience of Hydraulics, Electronics and App development would be an advantage
• Ability to communicate effectively (Written and presentation skills essential)
• Can manage a team effectively and has great interpersonal skills
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Must be able to use MS Office software & Solidworks & SAP (Preferable, training will be provided)
