We are looking for an Engineering Manager to ensure that all site assets are fully operational, reliable and available in order to provide continual and sustainable supply of product to British Sugar customers at target (or better) with respect to safety, productivity, cost, quality, service and reputation. You will also be responsible for making sure that all site assets are compliant to all legislation, regulation and corporate standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Drive standardisation, improvement and controls across Product Availability operations in: product quality, service, productivity, HSE and finance
• Implement best practice asset care and Maintenance management principles across the site
• Lead and facilitate adoption of asset care best practice across all PA Sites
• Develop, lead and implement the site maintenance plan
• Manage the site maintenance budget and deliver value for money
• Effectively manage all 3rd party suppliers of engineering and maintenance services at site
• Effectively use and develop CMMS to schedule and manage the operational maintenance and engineering resource plan at site
• Deliver Sustained delivery of Target Performance Metrics – reliability, productivity and availability
• Delivery of Product Availability engineering projects – time, cost, quality
• Governance and delivery of maintenance and engineering project and plant shutdowns
• Ensure high levels of planned corrective and preventive maintenance activities
• Effectively investigate all asset breakdowns and incidents and implement root cause solution
• Fully understand current compliance and regulatory requirements e.g. DSEAR/ATEX and their applications in the site environment

The successful Engineering Manager will be NEBOSH qualified have a demonstrable experience in an FMCG/food manufacturing environment and have extensive knowledge of conveying and packaging equipment within the food sector manufacturing.

You will have the following skills and experience:
• Exposure to best practice / world class asset Management tools and techniques
• Demonstrable experience of managing a multi-disciplined team of technicians and contractors
• Outstanding communication ability across all levels of the business and between all functions
• Ability to work proactively with minimal direct guidance
• Effective and proven leadership success through People
• Ability to think strategically, develop the vision and secure acceptance for it
• Ability to grow cross functional relationships and to influence outside of immediate sphere of control
• Highly developed analytical skills that translate to delivery
• Effective project planning and project management skills
• Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
