Digital Engagement Officer
DigiKick is a CIC (Community Interest Company) that aims to bring the community together by using digital as a tool. You will be expected to work as a team to ensure that customers have a positive and beneficial experience with the internet and digital equipment.
The role pays £26,000 per year for 32 hours per week. The job is to deliver sessions, as part of a team, around Birmingham helping groups of people learn basic internet skills, including:
* Safety
* Email
* Video calls
* Google search and YouTube
* and much more!
Most of the role is customer facing and includes tasks not limited to: Delivering training sessions, planning, marketing, fund raising events, community events, being in videos and research. You will be expected to:
* Deliver basic internet lessons to a group (training provided)
* Travel to deliver sessions, with equipment (mileage paid)
* Ensure the equipment is in full working order before sessions
* Complete admin digitally – I.e., the debriefs, data gathering, annual leave etc
* Work closely with your team
* Report back to your line manager regularly
* Participate in professional and personal training Must Haves:
* To be able to drive and hold a full UK driving licence
* Have a working knowledge of the internet
* Ability to plan sessions (full training will be given initially)
* Initiative to solve problems
* Good organisational, communication and listening skills
* People person
* Confident to talk in front of groups
Be helpful to have:
* Takes the initiative
* Be able to use Office 365
* An understanding of the issues people face (age, learning difficulties, mental health issues, confidence, isolation, language barriers etc)
* Caring and empathetic
* Can work in a team
* Good hosting skills – ensuring all customers have a cup of tea, feel welcome and comfortable in asking questions.
