Desktop Support Engineer

£17,000 – £21,000 a year – Permanent

ACM Resourcing are currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer for our client based in Leicester.

This is a great position for a skilled 1st Line Engineer, with a very good understanding and practical knowledge of the support requirements of end users and possess the capability to resolve technical issues. They work with clients who use both macOS and Windows and use cloud before on-premise. You will be working with a range of clients that include small businesses, enterprises, and educational institutions who have a requirement for exceptional customer service.

Duties and responsibilities:

* Provide 1st Line support to the IT users and systems within the business

* Installation and configuring hardware and software

* Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving faults

* Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure

* Remote, telephone or face-to-face support

* Procedural documentation and maintenance of asset register

* Setting up new user accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues

* Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties), if appropriate)

* Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time

Preferred skills and experience include:

• 1 or more years customer-facing IT support experience

• 1 or more years Mac/iOS or Windows support experience

• Good experience of computer hardware (switches, routers etc)

• Proven experience with desktop and server operating systems

• Familiarity with various flavours of modern cloud infrastructure including Office 365, G Suite, IdPs, MDM, and cloud-managed networks

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well both orally and written

• Industry qualifications are desirable

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 8hour shift between 8am – 6pm Monday through Friday, with a 1hour paid lunch break.
