Company Accountant

Salary: £26,000 – £36,000 per year

SF Recruitment are recruiting exclusively for a growing and exciting business based in Newark. This kind of role does not come up often and offers the chance for a real team player who is adaptable and will contribute to plans to shape the finance function.

This role would be perfect for an ACCA/CIMA newly or part qualified candidate looking to make that step up into a role and business that will encourage you to make change and drive the business forward. Reporting in to the CEO you will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance function and will need to be a real all rounder willing to get involved in all aspects including the following:

– Produce monthly management reports and quarterly Board reports
– Monthly financial statements including consolidated profit and loss accounts
– Manage the reporting package, including variance to budget/forecasts
– Day-to-day Banking
– Monthly management accounts
– Variance analysis and commentaries
– Payroll submission to accountants
– Prepare annual Budget and quarterly forecasts
– Provide regular and ad-hoc management reporting and analysis for decision-making
– Ongoing review of cash flow and production of forecasts
– Assist with the production of the annual statutory accounts, VAT and other returns
– Working with regulatory compliance advisors and compliance officer to produce regulatory filings
– Manage capital expenditure control
– Report on company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations and review of tangible and intangible assets
– Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
– Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
– Review and implementation of corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
– Work daily to contribute to the strategy / growth plan for the business
– Provide a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
– Work with external accountants
