I am currently recruiting for a Collections Team Leader to join my client, an established company based in Manchester. They are one of the fastest growing companies in the Northwest and they are looking to strengthen their team due to increased success and growing business, with the addition of a new Collections Team Leader in their team, the successful candidate will support the Collections Manager and manage a team of Collections Officers who are responsible for dealing with Loan customers who have fallen into arrears. The Collections Team currently manages arrears in a portfolio in excess of 10,500 accounts.

To expand on this you will be responsible for an array of duties including;
• Manage the loan book portfolio performance of the team and Identify and escalate high risk loans.
• Produce performance management reports required under the terms of the Start Up loans contract and by the Collections Manager.
• Conduct feedback coaching sessions for Call Listening, to ensure the service delivered to customers exceeds minimum requirements set in the KPI’s, addressing any issues of underperformance
• Conduct Team meetings, presenting Team performance on a monthly basis.
• Conduct 121 KIT reviews on a monthly basis and quarterly appraisals to encourage growth and progression.
• Analysis of Team performance and trends within the portfolio to support the SUL Collections Manager to review credit guidelines.
• Develop and empower the team personnel to enhance performance and the service delivered to customers to exceed minimum requirements under FCA/CCA and ensure they Treat Customer Fairly (TCF).
• Monitor team and individual team members’ performance against business and contractual SLA’s and KPI’s, addressing any issues of underperformance.
• Review performance of the team and continuous review of process to ensure industry regulation and group performance is met or exceeded.

What are we looking for?
As the ideal candidate you will have worked as a Collections Team Leader or in a similar role.
The above is essential but above all we are looking for the successful candidate for the role of Collections Team Leader to have the following:
• Experience of managing a team of collectors.
• Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• High level of planning, organisational and administration skills.
• Detailed understanding of FCA/CCA regulations in a sensitive area of lending
• Cognisant of CCA/FCA regulations specifically covering collection of arrears of regulated loan agreements.
